This month’s projects – March 2016

March saw the installation of our 52m Bow Warren footbridge in Herne Bay, Kent. The spectacle of a 1000 tonne crane lifting the spliced 60 tonne structure on a bright Sunday afternoon proved to be a big draw for the locals, who stood watching from the nearby road.
Meanwhile back at Nusteel’s yard the trial erection of our next station Step-free (AFA) bridge for Godalming, Surrey took place (as below). The 18.5m Vierendeel Truss span is solid clad to height of 1m and will feature a glazed upper section. Its 2 No Staircases will also be solid clad and glazed while the steelwork we provided for 2 No Lift towers (already installed) will be finished with brick cladding fascia.
Finally the last day of March is also my last day at Nusteel. After 14 years with the company I am off to pastures new. I will be continuing to work as a Children’s Entertainer at the weekends and a Sales Administrator for my friends’ company during the week. In addition to this I will also be working for myself designing and producing invitations and event planning, so look out for Moley Designs coming soon on Facebook!
It’s been a real pleasure working with everyone, especially sharing all of the Nusteel News with you via this website, I wish my colleagues at Nusteel continued success and hope you’ll give my successor as much support as you’ve given me over the years.
All the best – Carole Bird
