He was active from 1731 to 1766. The kettle is hallmarked with the city hallmark of Amsterdam, the year letter U for 1754 and the master's mark JB in one. A similar kettle is depicted in the book Nederlands klein Zilver by BWG Wttewaall, illustration 1001, page 328. The lid is removable. In good condition and heavy and solidly made.
